#GIVEUP

On the 21st of March, 125 students took the pledge to give up social media for a maximum of 5 and a half weeks. This ended on the first day back at school.

During this time, these girls also collected monetary donations from their friends and family which all went to support Reach Out, an organisation that supports youth, particularly with mental health issues and bullying.

We raised a staggering amount of $1665.50. This is such a huge accomplishment and the SRC would like to thank everyone who donated.

The 4 students who won this competition received Westfield gift vouchers. This decision was based on those who raised the most money and gave up social media the longest:

Number 4: Ei Aung from year 10 ($155)

Number 3: Joanne Vuong from year 11 ($170.050

Number 2: Mursal Rahimi from year 10 ($200.30)

Number 1: Destyni Ding from year 7 ($307)

A huge congratulations and thank you to all the girls who have been mentioned above.

Being surrounded by the girls who took up this pledge was absolutely inspiring. Their dedication to stop bullying was incredible and amazing. On behalf of the SRC we would like to thank all the girls who took this pledge and were successful. You have taken a very important step towards eliminating bullying.

We would also like to ask everyone who is reading this now to also be inspired by these girls and to also take a step towards stopping bullying.

Once again, well done and thank you to all the girls who participated in this challenge and a reminder to complete the survey we’ve posted on the website.

Keep your eyes and ears out for more initiatives to stop bullying.
