Colours splashed through the quad as the rich cultures of Macarthur Girls High School showed off their unique cultures in the diverse cultural stalls the were set up in the Quad. With a plethora of cultural activities on offer, it allowed the staff and students at our school to engage and embrace the cultural traditions of our students.
The Polynesian group offered a traditional art workshop and a hip shaking tutorial.
A group of Afghan girls brought in their traditional Afghan jewellery and allowed students to try on the exquisite pieces.
Henna and saree dress ups were offered by our Indian students while the Lebanese group offered traditional drumming workshops.
Filipino students played traditional Filipino games beside the Chinese Zodiac fortune telling stall.
Finally, an elaborate yum cha display was set up next to the Japanese Anime stall that had a bounty of costumed characters and lollies.
It was so fantastic to see the rich tapestry of cultures woven into one on the day of Cultural Stalls.
