#giveup
Social Media Challenge
What was the challenge about?
One of the things that the SRC planned for National Action against Bullying Day and Harmony Day was a challenge for students and teachers.
The challenge was to give up social media for a maximum of 5 and a half weeks.
Students and teachers who wished to be involve in the challenge indicated the number of social media platforms they gave up and the amount of time they wanted to do it for. This challenge was similar to the concept of the 40-hour famine, where we give up something and ask people to donate to our commitment.
When did it Happen?
The challenge began on Friday 21st March at 9am and ended on Tuesday 29th April at 3.15pm

By committing to the challenge, students were able to gain the following:
-

time to reflect on the disadvantages of social media and how it should be used
-
motivation and support from family and friends
-
feeling good about raising money to ReachOut, an organisation that could potentially support themselves and their peer
